Fuente: moroccoboard.com, Washington,

The Publisher of the Al Massae, Mr. Rashid Nini, was arrested today by the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ). the brigade handles sensitive cases. Mr. Nini was told that he was prohibited from leaving the country and, after a long interrogation, he was placed in custody for 96h, which "Will probably be extended, " said a source from Al massae. He will be  face tomorrow, Friday, the king's attorney ( DA) in a Casablanca court.
Rachid Nini has recently published articles on Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, the Director of the Internal security apparatus, DST, and on a corruption case , supposedly, involving Mr. Fouad Ali El Himma, the head of  the Authenticity and Modernity Party (WFP) who is close to the royal palace.
According to sources, Mr. Rachid Nini will be charged with "endangering public figures" and "undermining state security".
With 110,000 copies sold daily, Al Massae is the largest Moroccan daily newspaper.
Mr. Nini is a controversial editorialist. He is known for getting into long and intractable feuds with various public figures and by writing in a derisive manner about them. He is also known for throwing accusations against his foes ( without proof, contend his detractors) . He is, however, well informed because of leaks he receives from aggrieved parties.
Following the recent terrorist attack in Marrakech, there is a fear of regression in the process of democratization as happened following the 2003 terror attack in Casablanca.
